A truly wonderful wedding in God’s Own Country

God’s Own Country has quite the reputation for being a honeymoon destination and a family vacation spot, as well. But what is uncommon is a wedding ceremony in Kerala. Which, if you think about it, shouldn’t be the case – because the name itself is sort of “holy” don’t you think?

Beach weddings are a class apart anyway- so when I got an invitation for a wedding in Kerala, I was sort of excited. But this wasn’t the case- to my (slight) disappointment. But when I got there, I was pleasantly surprised. This was at one of the hotels under the aegis of the THR group, short for Thomas Hotels and Resorts.  They have about three hotels in Kerala, I believe- one in Poovar and two in Kovalam.

Anyway, we were at Turtle on The Beach – it has one of the few exceptional banquet halls in Trivandrum area and as far as wedding halls, Kerala go- it is quite a game changer! Very tastefully done up in pastel shades and extremely classy, the wedding venue looked charming.

Any nervousness that my friend had, dissipated after she saw the brilliant décor ( well, not completely but it was a start! ).

The ceremony was simple, elegant and the calming view of the sea waves washing upon the shore was just the icing on the cake!  I definitely want to go back to Kerala after this !
